Lab 4: North America

 Lab 4 - North America

This week we focused on North America which traditionally extends from the Canadian Arctic through the United States, Mexico and to the narrow Isthmus, Panama. Most of Canadas areas consist of boreal forests that are rich in minerals. In North America, they have experienced sprawl where urban areas and neighborhoods are growing and relying on cars to get around due to it not being walkable. some places have even started overlapping with others. there are some areas that are trying to switch to new urbanism that is walkable towns where everything is nearby.

On this map of the United States, the purple tones show how populated an area is and the Ferris wheels show where there are amusement parks. I noticed that across the US, amusement parks were usually placed in areas that are more populated. Not only that but most of them are on the edges, closer to the coast. I believe that the amusement parks are in areas with higher populations because it will have more people to access it and I also think that the amusement parks are placed in areas with better/warmer weather so they can stay open year around.
